The Jobs Program will connect transgender applicants with supportive businesses in a range of industries and for a diverse set of skill levels. Though job fairs, job and resume postings, and networking, our goal is to help both highly skilled applicants and those who need more workforce preparedness to find employment.
Our program will:
Assist with Job Readiness through resume preparation and interview skills
Create a Job Bank that features jobs with vetted employers
Create a Resume Bank for more proactive recruitment by employers
Conduct Trans Job Fairs to allow candidates to meet with employers in person
Provide Sensitivity Training (legal and cultural) for employers and supportive services
Connect participants with Workforce Development programs for skills training
TransWork is actively recruiting LGBTQ and trans-friendly businesses to post openings specifically for recruiting transgender and gender non-binary employees. Our focus is on helping both highly skilled applicants and those who need more assistance to find supportive employment.
To help serve as many transgender people as possible, we plan to partner with workforce development programs to help participants who need that assistance prepare for employment. We will also conduct legal, cultural, and sensitivity training with employers and evaluate their policies and cultures, to ensure our applicants find safe, supportive workplaces.
