About TransWork

TransWork is a program of the Independence Business Alliance, Greater Philadelphia's LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.

We are run by trans people for trans people and dedicated to addressing economic marginalization facing our communities. Contact Us or learn more about how we're supporting Philly-Area trans folks, and learn more about the IBA at thinkiba.com!

TransWork is an inclusive program designed to address economic disparity in the transgender community by connecting job seekers and entrepreneurs to a network of supportive employers and business partners.

Launched in 2018, the program was developed by a committee of trans-identified Independence Business Alliance (IBA) members and advisors with support from IBA staff. The IBA is the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Philadelphia Region, and TransWork's focus is likewise within this region. TransWork is the first program of its kind to be run out of a chamber of commerce in the United States.

Since its inception the program has grown to have 1,000+ Job-Seekers, 120+ Entrepreneurs, and 350+ TransWork Employers! We host a job bank of open positions from allied and inclusive employers, partner with companies to host job fairs for trans and non-binary job-seekers, hold job preparation seminars, workshops, and educational panels, and support entrepreneurs with LGBTBE Certification and networking opportunities.
