TransWork Resources for Job- and Career-Seekers

Our focus is on helping both highly skilled applicants and those who need more assistance to find supportive employment.

TransWork's Jobs Program connects transgender applicants with supportive businesses in a range of industries and for a diverse set of skill levels. Through job fairs, skills and job preparation programs, job and resume postings to our Job Bank, and networking events, our goal is to help both highly skilled applicants and those who need more workforce preparedness to find employment.

TransWork is a program of the IBA, the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Philadelphia Region, and our work is similarly focused within this geographic area.

Our program:

  • Hosts a Job Bank featuring jobs with inclusive employers
  • Assists with Job Readiness through resume preparation and interview skills
  • Conducts Virtual Job Fairs for trans and non-binary candidates to meet with employers
  • Provides Trainings (legal and cultural) for employers and community partner organizations
  • Connects participants with Workforce Development programs for skills training and career opportunities
  • Seeks to create a Resume Bank for more proactive recruitment by employers

TransWork is actively recruiting LGBTQ+ and trans-friendly businesses to post open opportunities, and working with employers to better recruit transgender and gender non-binary employees.  Our focus is on helping both highly skilled applicants and those who need more assistance to find supportive employment.

To help serve as many transgender people as possible, we partner with workforce development programs in our region to help participants who need that assistance prepare for employment.  We also conduct legal, cultural, and sensitivity training with employers and evaluate their policies and cultures. It is our goal to ensure that our applicants find safe, supportive, and affirming workplaces.
