Women Against Abuse (WAA), is looking for an experienced individual to join the team as our Family Case Manager!

Responsibilities:

The Family Case Manager will provide direct service links for facility residents and/or their children to external resources necessary to establish safe and more permanent housing and support as well as providing/coordinating counseling service for a caseload of clients either adults or children. Some responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing individual case management, advocacy, needs assessment, action planning and evaluation; Accompany residents and/or their children to outside appointment as necessary; Develop, implement, coordinator and facilitate group meetings of children & residents (current and former); Provide ongoing individual support and informal counsel; Identify new resources, develop information materials and networks with community resources; Register/transfer children to area schools/visit schools as needed to address various concerns and assessments. Provide training and education on various issues; Perform exit interviews; Collect and report data. Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in social services or related field with some experience in direct service and/or advocacy is required; experience in a residential setting is strongly preferred.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population is required.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member is required.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in communication, both verbal and written, is required.
  5. Some experience working on domestic violence issues is strongly preferred.
  6. Bilingualism is strongly preferred.
  7. Demonstrated skill in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, group facilitation and counseling is strongly preferred.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  9. Must attend upcoming Domestic Violence Advocate Virtual Training.
  10. Must satisfactorily pass Criminal (State & FBI) and Child Abuse Clearances, (paid by WAA).

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $19.81 with full benefits*
Location: North Philadelphia, PA
