Field Project Engineer

Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a Field Project Engineer to join the Projects Team. This position is part of a team that is responsible for maintaining customer relationships through quality support while minimizing costs and risk. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Field Project Engineer, you will take the lead on the coordination of the project activities during the field construction/commissioning period with the Project Design Team, with Suppliers, and with the Customer field construction team, referring to the Project Manager only as needed for major issues and for commercial discussions with the Customer. The Field Project Engineer will be the primary contact for the Nooter/Eriksen Field Technical Advisor (FTA) and/or the customer's field contractor to resolve technical and logistics issues in a manner that facilitates the site schedule and minimizes N/E's costs and risk of field delays.
The Field Project Engineer is responsible for managing field issues and OSD reports as they arise, coordinating timely responses with support as needed from the appropriate project team disciplines, and making decisions on cost and schedule with respect to correcting issues in the field. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a Field Back-charge Log and resolving issues, signing off on/approving the Notice to Proceed, minimizing delays and potential field back charge exposure to Nooter/Eriksen, coordinating any back-charges that are due to a supplier nonconformance, notifying the Supplier immediately and advise them of the estimated cost from the customer or by Nooter/Eriksen with assistance from the Manager of Construction, preparing monthly status presentations, with assistance from the Manager of Construction and Field Technical Advisors, for each project for field status, and supplier back charges for field back charge exposure, and facilitate "Field Lessons Learned" meetings with the appropriate stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS.
We want the person selected for this role to be successful! The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this role:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to read/analyze technical engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking skills and customer service skills. Proactive, and able to work both independently and with a team. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, highly professional, organized, and trustworthy team player.
- Proficiency in English.
- Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
- This position requires domestic and international travel estimated at 10-20% but may vary based on project requirements. Required to climb stair towers, ladders and enter confined spaces during plant visits and inspections.
