Position Overview:

Modern Fanatic, is a full-service agency specializing in fandom, pop culture, gaming, and comics. We are seeking a passionate and creative Junior Publicist to join our team. The Junior Publicist will play a vital role in promoting our client’s brands, managing media relations, and supporting various initiatives. This position is ideal for someone with a deep love for fandom, pop culture, and entertainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and industry professionals to secure coverage for Modern Fanatic's projects, events, and products.
  • Press Release Creation: Assist in the creation and distribution of compelling press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials to generate excitement and interest in our brand and offerings.
  • Content Creation: Contribute to the development and execution of engaging and shareable content, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, and newsletters, aligned with the company's voice and target audience.
  • Social Media Management: Help manage and grow Modern Fanatic's social media presence by creating and scheduling content, engaging with the community, monitoring trends, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Event Support: Provide assistance in organizing and executing fan events, conventions, and promotional activities, ensuring smooth logistics and a memorable experience for attendees.
  • Brand Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners and influencers to explore and establish mutually beneficial brand partnerships, sponsorships, and cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, fan communities, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for audience engagement and growth.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on media coverage, social media performance, and marketing campaign effectiveness to evaluate the impact of initiatives and inform future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Fandom and Pop Culture: Strong interest and knowledge in fandom, pop culture, comics, and related industries.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engage diverse audiences.
  • Social Media Savvy: Proficient in social media platforms, content creation, and community management to drive engagement and build a loyal fan base.
  • Creativity: Ability to think outside the box, generate innovative ideas, and contribute to the development of captivating campaigns and content.
