International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Foundation

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Foundation (IGLTA Foundation) is
seeking a highly
motivated, detail-oriented, account management-focused individual with
excellent
communication and organizational skills to join our team as Partner
Engagement and
Development Director. The primary function of this position is to generate
revenue, which will
be accomplished through strategic relationships developed into sponsorships,
grants, etc. This
work-from-home position reports to the President/CEO, is full-time and
includes domestic and
international travel, both for strategic business meetings as well as
applicable conferences.
IGLTA is an internationally renowned LGBTQ+ travel brand that has been
operating continuously
since 1983. We are a non-profit organization based in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida, marketing to
LGBTQ+ travelers worldwide and catering to the needs of the tourism companies
that welcome
them. The philanthropic IGLTA Foundation empowers LGBTQ+ welcoming travel
businesses
globally through leadership, research, and education.
We are adding this new position to the Foundation’s operations team to
better contribute to the
articulation of the Foundation's strategy and the setting of its annual
objectives, to establish and
implement the Foundation's action plan according to the agreed targets, and
to ensure the
implementation of fundraising activities and the development of major donor
loyalty.
The main goal of this revenue-generating role is to define and execute
philanthropic fundraising
strategies for the foundation, collaborate with current partners and
potential corporate donors,
and implement these partnerships.
In coordination with the CEO and board of directors, the successful candidate
will be at the
forefront of the deployment of the Foundation’s mission as well as
developing personalized
awareness, solicitation, recognition, and donor loyalty plans in addition to
ensuring quality
follow-up and correspondence with donors.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate:
● Has a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or similar
● 5 years or more experience in fundraising-related activities
● Excellent knowledge of current practices in philanthropic
development
● Strong ability to develop new business and personal relationships and
a good network of business contacts
● Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills;
● Is proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
and
digital layout/publishing software (InDesign, Pages, etc.) and online
publishing platforms;
● Brings to the position excellent time management skills, outstanding
organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects
simultaneously
while respecting deadlines;
● Is comfortable working virtually and in a small team environment;
● Is able to apply basic mathematics, able to calculate percentages, use
and
interpret formulas;
● Is innovative and is willing to test new ideas, seek out new solutions,
is a fast learner
and early adopter;
● Is eager to meet and exceed objectives/goals and brings new ideas of
achieving
success to the organization;
● Is able to clearly communicate results to management in a fast-paced
environment;
● Pays attention to details and gets the job done; is able to work
autonomously;
● Must have exceptional people skills, an outgoing personality and a
positive
attitude, is optimistic, energetic, a self-starter, and seen as a “people
person”
striving for mutual success with corporate partners
● Speaks and writes fluent English
● Based and able to legally work in the United States
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Identify new funding opportunities through engagement and
networking with existing and potential partners;
● Carry out the search for new funds in the form of project funding or
mission funding on an ongoing basis;
● Develop and manage a portfolio of potential and active individual and
corporate donors;
● Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop budgets;
● Plan, organize, execute and coordinate solicitation activities for
assigned development projects;
● Follow up on projects with the Foundation's Board of directors and
report directly to the CEO;
● Develop and maintain a network of key collaborators within the
LGBTQ+ community, as well as an external network relevant to the
foundation’s project deployment;
● Coordinate and monitor project schedules, ensure deadlines and
expectations are met, and ensure the security and confidentiality of
donor information when necessary;
● Participate in fundraising, planning, and organizing of fundraising
events;
● Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion;
● Serve as the major external representative of the Foundation and
communicate its mission and values
