About Us:
The GenderCool Project is a youth-led, youth-inspired movement with a simple
mission: to help replace misinformed opinions with positive, powerful
experiences actually meeting transgender and non-binary youth who are
thriving. GenderCool is seeking an energetic, highly organized, inclusive
individual interested in joining our team as a Project Manager.
GenderCool’s Project Manager reports to the Director of Operations &
Programs and supports the organization’s needs through project management,
event planning, administrative support, and partnership support. The Project
Manager should have a desire to be part of a rapidly-growing social movement,
fueled by the young people ages 12 to 17 whom we call the GenderCool
Champions.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
Manage execution of programs across multiple workstreams, developing project
deliverables and timelines, supporting stakeholders (staff, partners,
Champion families) across projects
Work with vendors and consultants across projects
Serve as liaison between stakeholders and team to help manage a project from
start to finish
Help with creative projects including with the integrated team and
consultants (brainstorms, program ideation, and execution)
Develop programs and ideas around different workstreams (one-off special
events, programs, grants, etc.), including creating decks and presentations
Event Planning and Execution
Plan and manage execution of in-person events including schedules, travel
logistics, and planning, including vendor preparation, payment processing,
and expenses
Plan and manage execution of virtual events including meeting organization,
planning logistics, invites for speakers, run of shows
Developing messaging and collateral/decks for partners
Administrative and Office Management support
Help support Champion families with program logistics and planning efforts
around meetings, calls, and events
Develop deep knowledge of the organization’s processes and systems
Work with leadership to define and support technology needs
Provide other administrative support as necessary, including scheduling group
meetings, maintaining calendars, doing research, and creating reports
Support budgets for various projects
Partnerships
Plan and support execution of partnership agreements
Assist with partnership onboarding including contracts and payment, including
vendor set up and processing payments
Develop and support creative programming for prospective partners/events
Support with contracts and LOAs for consultants and partners
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience, especially projects that include multiple
stakeholders
Understanding of LGTBQ+ community, specifically the transgender community
Experience working with youth
Adaptable - able to work/operate on the fly
Effective communicator with strong writing skills and demonstrated attention
to detail
Analytics skills
Ability to work with fundraising and development staff
Experience working remotely
Must be located in Eastern or Central Time Zone (GMT-6, GMT-5)
Important Qualities:
Professional account management or project management experience
Strategic thinker, who can think beyond just the short-term task/project at
hand
Ability to manage time, project trackers, and timelines
Strong organizational skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
High emotional intelligence
Must be able to connect respectfully and work with young transgender and
non-binary youth ages 12 to 17, and their parents
Collaborative, communicative, and kind spirited
Be deeply dedicated to GenderCool’s mission and campaign goals
Attend events or be accessible for travel 1-3 times per quarter (depending on
COVID)
Role Parameters:
Remote full-time employee
Estimated Time Requirement: 40 hours per week
$50,000 annually
Ideal start date: April 15, 2022
