We are actively seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and experienced leader to join our team as the Vice President IT. This position will be a member of the senior management team. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Information Technology is a member of the Amida Care Senior Leadership team and serves as a strategic, innovative and best-practice driven thought leader on all technology matters. The VP of IT is responsible for the oversight of planning, developing, implementing, securing, and operating the organization's information technology (IT) systems. 

The VP of IT will provide leadership, hands-on management, and strategic direction for all IT-related areas, including digital transformation, infrastructure, networks, telecommunications systems, cybersecurity, enterprise data management and data architecture, application development and support, outsourced vendor relationships, desktop support, and disaster recovery/business resumption.

The VP of IT shall foster an environment that drives an effective, engaged, and motivated team of IT employees while providing thought leadership to ensure effective, strategic solutions that support Amida Care’s long term and short-term goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and execution of the IT strategic plan and roadmap in support of the enterprise strategy.
  • Serve as a member of the Amida Care senior team and provides expert counsel and guidance to the senior management team on a variety of issues from an IT network, systems, and data perspective.
  • Oversees technological infrastructure, critical information, and data systems.
  • Develops and implements the IT strategies, policies, procedures, and best practices, and ensuring all Information Technology methodology and processes (Project Management, SDLC and Change Management) are followed and database requirements are documented (following the requirement specification standards).
  • Effectively manages IT vendor relationships to foster strong partnerships, strategic alignment, and value. Maximizes the effectiveness of existing systems by assessing, evaluating, and making recommendations as applicable while being financially prudent.
  • Collaborates with business leaders to identify technological needs and develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. Create an environment that promotes professional growth and staff development through effective leadership and education.
  • Leads efforts to identify new technologies and opportunities for process & system improvements.
  • Develops the IT expense and capital budgets that support both long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Oversees the management of Amida Care’s facilities and leasing partners.
  • Enables the preparation, maintenance, and implementation of application, data, data security, infrastructure and integration policies and procedures.
  • Ensures robust IT Disaster Recovery documentation, capabilities, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory requirements including HIPAA, PHI, and audit requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience required.

EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of (15) years of relevant experience in implementing and architecting complex data management and BI capabilities such as data warehouse, reporting and data engineering with 5 years technology management experience in a large complex IT organization.
  • Proven ability to understand the business strategy and goals and their potential implications in terms of IT solutions required to support them.
  • Healthcare managed care experience required.
  • Demonstrated enablement of the design, development, and implementation of complex solutions by understanding the overall data ecosystem for a healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrates a logical approach to problem solving and high-level analytical capabilities, programming and related technical skills showing ingenuity and creativity, including an attention to detail and an understanding of business processes and constraints.
  • Work within a change management framework that incorporates distinct development, test, and production environments, solution promotion and deployment processes, as well as solution testing and defect management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of application system infrastructure, technology, and concepts in an enterprise Information Technology environment, with the ability to grasp quickly new technologies, applications, and concepts, and apply them as required.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to create a working team environment, meet deadlines, mentor, share knowledge and take on responsibility and accountability for assigned areas.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and prioritization skills as well as excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including the ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise way.
  • Leadership experience in driving a team to meeting deadlines, goals, and objectives. Demonstrate experience in participating in multiple projects and ability to work with limited supervision, showing creativity, innovation, motivation, initiative, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural values, beliefs, and attitudes of both internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviors in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
