LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE – PRIDE CLINIC

The LPN is responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to LGBTQ+ and
HIV positive patients at the clinic. Within the scope of practice, assumes
responsibility, as necessary, for the assessment, treatment and care of
patients. Displays an understanding of the developmental needs of the patient
when planning and implementing treatment. Displays competency in obtaining
information, familiarity with medications, and processing of refill
prescriptions. Works closely with the Physician and other members of the
clinical team. Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and administration of
nebulized medications. Makes patient callbacks with lab test results and
diagnosis, provides patient education, and supports adherence and retention
to care and treatment. May assist with outreach and education to the LGBTQ+
community in the surrounding area as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: High School Diploma; Associates degree in nursing preferred. 2.
Experience: One year of nursing experience; preferably with individuals
living with HIV, at high risk of HIV and/or those who identify as LGBTQ+.
Experience using an electronic medical records system; EPIC preferred.
Sensitivity and knowledge regarding the medical and supportive needs of
LGBTQ+ individuals required. 3. Training/Certification: Basic Life Support
(BLS); Phlebotomy; IM/SC/ID injections 4. Licensure: NYS LPN Licensed 5.
Other: Superb communication and customer service skills. Bilingual in Spanish
preferred. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
