        Position Summary:<br />\r\n
        Family Equality is seeking to fulfill a new role on our Communications team:<br />\r\n
        Director of Media Relations. With nearly four million LGBTQ+ millennials<br />\r\n
        seeking to expand their families and critical legislation like the Equality<br />\r\n
        Act sitting in Congress, we need to ensure that the people who need us can<br />\r\n
        find us. By generating media coverage across print, digital, and broadcast<br />\r\n
        outlets, the Director of Media Relations will play a crucial role in raising<br />\r\n
        awareness for our work and shaping public discourse.<br />\r\n
        <br />\r\n
        Family Equality’s Director of Media Relations will oversee day-to-day media<br />\r\n
        inquiries and rapid response communications in addition to developing and<br />\r\n
        implementing long-term press and media engagement strategies.&nbsp; They will work<br />\r\n
        closely with the rest of the Communications team: our video<br />\r\n
        producer/storyteller and our Chief Communications Officer.<br />\r\n

        Duties and Responsibilities:<br />\r\n
        Our new Director of Media Relations will amplify Family Equality’s work<br />\r\n
        by…<br />\r\n
        -Developing media strategies that will expand our reach and authentically<br />\r\n
        engage LGBTQ+ audiences, BIPOC communities, and key<br />\r\n
        influencers/decision-makers/al<wbr />lies;<br />\r\n
        -Conducting frequent media training and providing daily opportunity-specific<br />\r\n
        media prep for Family Equality spokespersons and staff; this includes<br />\r\n
        producing background information and talking points (“if-asked”<br />\r\n
        guidances);<br />\r\n
        -Ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all of Family Equality’s<br />\r\n
        media materials and related communications collateral;<br />\r\n
        -Creating formal media &amp; press plans for events, reports, project launches,<br />\r\n

        -Distributing press releases, media advisories, and other Family Equality<br />\r\n
