        <p>Primary Function of the Position</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>Under the direction of the Director of Finance, this position maintains and<br />\r\n
        controls the General Ledger and is responsible for accounting transactions of<br />\r\n
        the organization in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles<br />\r\n
        (GAAP) ensuring that the financial operating and reporting needs of the<br />\r\n
        organization are met. Duties include AP, AR and journal entries; grant<br />\r\n
        accounting, assisting with the budget, managing the audit, completing monthly<br />\r\n
        and year-end close procedures, and assisting in the review of operating<br />\r\n
        results.</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>Essential Job Functions</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>1.General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll Processing<br />\r\n
        Responsible for the monthly financial close, preparation of standard month<br />\r\n
        end journal entries, and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts<br />\r\n
        Work with Development staff to accurately record contributions and pledges,<br />\r\n
        prepare deposit weekly and reconcile monthly<br />\r\n
        Maintain and communicate a proper system of internal controls<br />\r\n
        Coordinate Finance Department record retention<br />\r\n
        Assist in preparation for the annual audit and 990<br />\r\n
        Assist in reporting financial information to staff, management and other<br />\r\n
        stakeholders<br />\r\n
        Assist budget managers in accessing accounting software dashboards<br />\r\n
        Grant tracking and invoicing, including Federal grants<br />\r\n
        Process all incoming invoices weekly, complying with internal controls<br />\r\n
        procedures<br />\r\n
        Responsible for payroll processing and supporting the HR Generalist in<br />\r\n
        benefits administration.</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>2.Create a positive public awareness of BBBS and contribute to the overall<br />\r\n
        success of the agency in order to achieve the BBBS mission.<br />\r\n
        Maintain knowledge of community needs, resources, and networks<br />\r\n
        Communicate in a professional manner with external constituents<br />\r\n
        Work collaboratively to achieve results as specified in the annual business<br />\r\n
        plan<br />\r\n
        Promote teamwork by overseeing and participating in various teams including<br />\r\n
        work groups and interdepartmental meetings<br />\r\n
        Positively represent BBBS in the larger community<br />\r\n
        Support the Advancement Department in recruitment, fundraising, and<br />\r\n
        communication efforts as needed<br />\r\n
        Support the Programs Department with agency-wide initiatives and events as<br />\r\n

        <p>Education and Experience</p>\r\n

        <p>Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred with a minimum of<br />\r\n
        one year of experience in a nonprofit environment; or<br />\r\n
        Associate's degree with a minimum of three years of experience; or<br />\r\n
        5+ years of direct comprehensive accounting experience in field in lieu of<br />\r\n
        degree<br />\r\n
        Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>Ability to utilize accounting and payroll software (previous experience with<br />\r\n
        Financial Edge NXT and Paylocity preferred)<br />\r\n
        Intermediate skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications<br />\r\n
        Knowledge of and ability to accurately apply Generally Accepted Accounting<br />\r\n
        Procedures (GAAP)<br />\r\n
        Knowledge of internal control procedures to safeguard assets<br />\r\n
