        How You Will Contribute<br />\r\n
        <br />\r\n
        Reporting to the Curator of Education, Public Programs, the Manager of Family<br />\r\n
        Programs leads a team dedicated to making the museum welcoming, accessible,<br />\r\n
        age-appropriate, and exciting through a range of activities and opportunities<br />\r\n
        designed for families. The incumbent oversees all aspects of programming and<br />\r\n
        larger institutional efforts that seek to engage intergenerational audiences,<br />\r\n
        with an emphasis on children ages 0 through 12 and their grown-up<br />\r\n
        companions.&nbsp;<br />\r\n
        <br />\r\n
        Specifically, you will:<br />\r\n
        <br />\r\n
        Oversee and lead programs throughout the year that help grow family audiences<br />\r\n
        and ensure that the museum is a leading family-friendly destination in the<br />\r\n
        city<br />\r\n
        Contribute to the larger efforts of the Public Programs Department whose work<br />\r\n
        seeks to inspire, ignite creativity, and spur deeper inquiry<br />\r\n
        Develop and oversee the implementation of Family Programs strategic vision<br />\r\n
        and initiates programmatic changes in response to this plan<br />\r\n
        Hold weekly team meetings with Family Programs staff members and offer<br />\r\n
        strategic direction, mentorship, and ongoing feedback<br />\r\n
        Work with the Curator of Education, Public Programs and others to imagine and<br />\r\n
        implement Art Kids, a year-round series of drop-in family programs and tours<br />\r\n
        Collaborate with the Family Programs team to develop and implement<br />\r\n
        large-scale Pay What You Wish Family Festivals<br />\r\n
        Directly oversee the Museum Educator for Family Programs and the Studio<br />\r\n
        Monitor in their respective work as well and in the training of part-time<br />\r\n
        staff members<br />\r\n
        Oversee weekend gallery programs as well as seasonal holiday programs for<br />\r\n
        families and support the Museum Educator for Family Programs in the<br />\r\n
        development and execution of this programming<br />\r\n
        Support the Studio Monitor in managing, growing, and sustaining Children’s<br />\r\n
        Art Classes and other studio programs<br />\r\n
        Advise on and approve gallery curriculum written by Museum Educators and<br />\r\n
        studio projects for large scale events<br />\r\n
        Work with Curator of Education, Public Programs to manage the budget for Art<br />\r\n
        Kids and other Family Programs<br />\r\n
        Work cross-departmentally to advocate for the family visitor experience in<br />\r\n
        close partnership with Special Events, Visitor Experience, Editorial and<br />\r\n
        Graphic Design, Exhibition Design, Museum Store, Marketing and<br />\r\n
        Communications, and Facilities<br />\r\n
        Collaborate with Development on grant/funding proposals and documentation of<br />\r\n
        programs and supports a variety of fundraising efforts<br />\r\n
        Work with curatorial and interpretation teams to find ways to make the<br />\r\n
        collections, and specific exhibitions family-friendly through the inclusion<br />\r\n
        of family activities and interpretation<br />\r\n
        Regularly implements and teach gallery programs and tours<br />\r\n
        Attend weekly Public Programs team meeting and Division of Learning and<br />\r\n

        The salary for this position is $56,000<br />\r\n
        This position is full-time, exempt, and 35 hours per week<br />\r\n
        Routine evening and weekend work is required<br />\r\n
        This position reports to the Curator of Education, Public Programs<br />\r\n
        Physical requirements:<br />\r\n
        Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers<br />\r\n
        and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically<br />\r\n
        administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or<br />\r\n
        exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum<br />\r\n
        campus.<br />\r\n
        Able to regularly set up, adjust, and operate a computer/keyboard and other<br />\r\n
        office equipment used to generate work/transmit data.<br />\r\n
        Able to move up to 50 pounds.<br />\r\n
        Able to move through crowded public spaces easily for hours at a time to<br />\r\n
