The Development Associate will provide extensive<br />\r\n fundraising support, with a wide-reaching impact across all key functions<br />\r\n including database management, grant research, individual giving, and<br />\r\n fundraising event planning. This position will play a collaborative role in<br />\r\n developing and implementing systems that increase the quality and efficiency<br />\r\n of our work, supporting our ability to grow and expand our mission.<br />\r\n <br />\r\n To be successful in this role, you should have experience in a fundraising<br />\r\n database, ideally Raiser’s Edge NXT, strong research and writing skills,<br />\r\n and event logistics. The Development Associate should have the desire to be<br />\r\n part of a rapidly-growing social movement, fueled by the young people whom we<br />\r\n call the GenderCool Champions.<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Reporting to the Development Manager and collaborating with the Corporate<br />\r\n Partnerships and Operations teams, responsibilities include:<br />\r\n <br />\r\n MAIN FUNCTIONS<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Database management and support<br />\r\n Corporate & Foundation grant research<br />\r\n Individual donor research & stewardship<br />\r\n All fundraising event coordination and logistics<br />\r\n Coordinate and prepare materials for donor meetings<br />\r\n Grant Management<br />\r\n Miscellaneous<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Database management and support<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Manage standard operating procedures and data health for Raiser’s Edge NXT<br />\r\n Ensure data from external giving platforms is regularly imported<br />\r\n Ensure donor actions and interactions are correctly connected to donor<br />\r\n records<br />\r\n Support the greater GenderCool team in using the database<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Corporate & Foundation grant research<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Research and identify new grant opportunities<br />\r\n Perform background research for data points and supporting information for<br />\r\n grant proposals<br />\r\n Perform background research on foundations and their representatives ahead of<br />\r\n meetings with said individuals<br />\r\n Work cross departmentally to support data collection and analysis to meet<br />\r\n grant reporting requirements<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Individual donor research & stewardship<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Prepare materials for donor stewardship, including thank-you notes and<br />\r\n newsletter content<br />\r\n Perform research on current and prospective donors using ResearchPoint<br />\r\n Support scheduling of donor stewardship meetings and outreach<br />\r\n <br />\r\n All fundraising event coordination and logistics<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Lead logistical planning for annual fundraising event, including researching<br />\r\n and securing appropriate vendors, working with vendors to arrange services,<br />\r\n and ensuring that vendors communicate with the Operations team to sign<br />\r\n contracts.<br />\r\n Preparing day-of assets for the annual fundraising event<br />\r\n Lead day-of logistics, including acting as the point of contact for vendors<br />\r\n Recruit and train volunteers as appropriate, with support from teammates<br />\r\n Post-event follow-up, assessment, and measurement with an eye toward<br />\r\n continually calibrating fundraising and development events for optimum<br />\r\n success.<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Coordinate and prepare materials for donor meetings<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Help to coordinate meetings with current, prospective, and lapsed donors<br />\r\n Prepare & present a detailed summary of GenderCool’s relationship to the<br />\r\n donor, and their giving priorities to the individuals attending the<br />\r\n stewardship meeting<br />\r\n Ensure timely followup after donor meetings with any promised materials or<br />\r\n resources<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Grant Management<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Manage grants calendar and activities function within Raiser’s Edge NXT<br />\r\n Support data collection and collation efforts<br />\r\n Run reports within Raiser’s Edge NXT to provide relevant information for<br />\r\n grant applications and reports<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Miscellaneous<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Additional responsibilities and occasional duties as needed to support the<br />\r\n organization<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Skills & Requirements:<br />\r\n <br />\r\n Bachelor’s degree or equivalent<br />\r\n 1+ years’ experience in a development role at a nonprofit<br />\r\n Strong written and verbal communication skills<br />\r\n Experience working with a donor database, ideally Raiser’s Edge<br />\r\n Experience with event planning or management<br />\r\n Developed research skills<br />\r\n Understanding of the LGTBQ+ community, specifically the transgender and/or<br />\r\n non-binary community<br />\r\n Able to work cross-departmentally<br />\r\n Adaptable -
