How You Will Contribute

Working under limited supervision, these individuals ensure the safety and security of our building-from staff to the precious art collection. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with a team of support staff and will have demonstrated supervisory experience.

Specifically, you will:

• Monitor building access, CCTV, and emergency response systems located at all museum locations

• Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting and completion of documentation related to reportable incidents

• Oversee a security team responsible for ensuring the protection of people and art work at the museum

• Perform other duties as assigned

Your background and experience include:

• A track record of success with analysis, problem solving, and decision making in a cooperative and coordinated planning environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Working knowledge of emergency response and building security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection is a must

• Computer proficiency – what work above is this referring to?

• A high school diploma or GED

• At least 2 years related security experience in a similar setting

• Previous supervisory experience in the security and protection services industry is preferred

Position and Compensation Details

• The minimum hourly rate for this position is $19.00

• This position is part-time, non-exempt, and 25 hours per week.

• This position requires a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.

• This position reports to the Director of Protection Services

Physical requirements:

• Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus

• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the role for the entirety of the shift (up to 8 hours)

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

• Ability to work at all museum locations

• COVID-19 vaccination required.

• Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
