Responsibilities:

• Own the annual budgeting process in conjunction with the CEO, senior leadership team, and accounting firm
• Work with accounting firm and development team to ensure accurate organizational cashflow forecasting to inform decision-making
• Work closely with our outside accounting firm to compile, analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Coordinate the financial audit process, working with external auditors and our accounting firm
• Ensure multi-entity legal and tax compliance by partnering with the accounting and compliance team to ensure consistent bookkeeping and financial reporting best practices
• Optimize systems to ensure timely processing of payroll, invoices, and reimbursements with accounting firm
• Streamline processes for contract execution for external vendors, facilities, software, equipment, and events
• Make recommendations for how to streamline operations based on organizational needs
• Create and update concise, user-friendly documentation for standard operating procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

• A background in operations and budget management, with a track record of managing financial systems and budgets effectively in at least two roles previously
• Ability to evaluate finances, reports, and tools effectively to enable decision making
• A passion for creating systems, processes, and policies to make the work more efficient
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and remove barriers to implementation
• A perspective on how to build adaptable systems and navigate change successfully as an organization grows
• Experience rolling out user-friendly systems effectively, with the ability to clearly articulate processes and drive adoption across the team
• Deep commitment to racial equity, with self awareness around privilege, bias, and oppression
• Working knowledge of nonprofit grant administration, compliance, and auditing helpful, but not required

More Information:

Reports to: Managing Director

Manages: N/A

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually. This is a full-time exempt position
