Communications Coordinator
Princeton AlumniCorps seeks an organized and creative Communications
Coordinator to support annual fundraising, collateral branding, program
alumni engagement, and ongoing communications efforts for our mission-driven
organization. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of
Development, this position will play an essential role in telling the
AlumniCorps story to multiple audiences and generating funds to support our
mission.
The Communications Coordinator will:
● In collaboration with the Director of Development, support all external
communications to drive alumni engagement, financial support, and program
participation in the form of direct mail, e-newsletters, email, and social
media.
● Develop templates for emails, programs, newsletters, and other collateral
materials to ensure cohesion, consistency, and organizational branding across
diverse outreach mediums.
● Create a communications guide that lays out standard practices and
protocols for communications, as well as encompasses the organization’s
commitment to equity, justice, and inclusion.
● Collaborate with staff to unearth great AlumniCorps stories from our
network of program alumni, mentors, and other volunteers to promote civic
engagement within the AlumniCorps network.
● Manage the organization’s newly created Communications Calendar (in
Google Sheets) and monitor interdepartmental communications, ensuring
materials communications to go out as scheduled.
● Lead Communications meetings with the Development Director and Programs
Team to assess upcoming needs (branded materials, video editing, graphics
creation, etc.), priorities and bandwidths.
● Work closely with our Development Director to strategize about the social
media presence for AlumniCorps on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and
other platforms as needed, including graphics and scheduling for posts.
● In consultation staff, ensure website content and landing page are
up-to-date, engaging, and on-message.
● Create and edit videos for AlumniCorps.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
● Possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
● Have some experience, via paid work, volunteering/internships or similar,
in the nonprofit sector, hopefully with a focus on communications, social
media or similar.
● Have outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as the
ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
● Possess a high level of attention to detail.
● Demonstrate excellent design skills for both print and digital.
● Have experience with web-based design tools like Canva and email
marketing tools like Campaign Monitor.
● Be facile with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, and add-on tools like Hootsuite and LinkTree.
● Write lively copy for diverse audiences and be able to copy edit for
accuracy and tone.
● Work fluently in Microsoft Office Suite and be willing to learn new
technology.
● Work well independently and show initiative to take on new projects and
solve problems.
● Possess interest in professional and leadership development in the
nonprofit sector.
● Willingness to engage with program participants, volunteers and alumni
who span generations.
● Be committed to Princeton AlumniCorps’ mission and vision for civic
leadership.
● Approach this role with flexibility, good humor, steadiness under
pressure, optimism, and a sense of mission.
The position is currently remote with in-person work options at the
AlumniCorps office at 12 Stockton Street in Princeton, NJ. AlumniCorps
encourages applications from people of color, LGBTQ persons, and other

The role will be a 30-hours-a-week position. The salary for 30 hours a week
ranges from $34,000 - $36,000. Other benefits include 20 days of PTO for the
first three years of employment with an increase thereafter, 11 paid
holidays, one paid floating holiday, and four quarterly all-staff mental
health days. In addition, staff are eligible to contribute to a 403b plan
immediately. After one year, AlumniCorps will match up to 2% of the staff’s
salary. Health insurance is available to employees and AlumniCorps pays a
portion of the premium for employees.
