Full Time Wholesale Packer
Seeking full-time wholesale order packer for 40 hours/week with availability
for a consistent schedule of 7AM-3PM of every Sunday - Thursday.
Crust is a specialty, vegan bakery in the NW Philadelphia neighborhood of
Manayunk. Our business has a new retail storefront on Main St, however this
position would be based out of our commercial kitchen located just down the
street on Krams Ave where we do the majority of our wholesale baking. Given
that we are such a small & rapidly growing business, the person hired will
have the opportunity to grow, have their input valued, and be able to help
shape our future. While the workload can be daunting, we try to balance that
with a positive & fun work environment.
Base pay starts at $14/hr. with the possibility of a raise 6 months later.
Tips are split equally among staff all based on the number of hours worked
each week and roughly average an additional $3-4/hr. All employees receive
immediate access to a free telehealth plan, and there is a full health
insurance option available. After our 3 month probationary new hire period,
the PT employee would receive 40 hours of PTO and an additional 40 hours of
sick time.
While we do not require our staff to be vegan, since we are a kosher
certified kitchen and bakery, all meals brought to eat at work must follow
kosher guidelines and therefore must be vegan.

Duties include:
Packaging of foods for wholesale distribution
Keeping fridge and freezer inventories accurate and organized
Maintaining physically organized fridge and freezer stocks
Communicating directly with the delivery company when issues arise
Quality control of product being packed and delivered with Crust’s standard
General cleaning and maintenance of kitchen
Clean and sanitize workstations to assist the next shift/coworkers
Receiving and putting away deliveries

Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
Basic knowledge of food safety, a plus
Bakery/restaurant experience in a high-volume kitchen, a plus
Learn an online based bakery software
Ability to read/comprehend detailed spreadsheets daily, both printed and
digital
Basic knowledge of computers (e-mail, slack, etc)
Servsafe certified, a plus. If you are not Servsafe certified, Crust will pay
for you to take the course to obtain your certification on a day when you are
already scheduled to work and will provide access to a computer if needed.
