GL & AP Accountant

What You'll Be Doing
Perform period close activities, enter journal entries and complete general
ledger account reconciliations.
Prepare expense accruals and ensure proper timing and classifications of
expenses.
Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger, additions and retirements.
Obtain and post daily bank activity
Codes such items as vendor invoices, expense reports, check requests, etc.,
with correct codes conforming to standard accounting procedures to ensure it
is properly processed into the accounting system.
Verify approval on all operational Accounts Payable.
Investigates and resolves discrepancies associated with the processing of
invoices and vendor payment issues.
Reconcile vendor statements, and handle all vendor correspondence via phone
or email.
Assist with the payment run process
Update and maintain vendor information as required.
Obtain and maintain current W-9 forms from vendors.
Keep files of invoices, payments, vendor agreements, and all other necessary
documents associated with Accounts Payable
Other responsibilities as needed.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance with 1+ years of
experience in Accounting.
Knowledge of GAAP rules and requirements.
Interest in expanding your accounting knowledge; learn to prepare financial
statements and reports, examine and evaluate fiscal and Accounting data, with
ability to maintain highly confidential information.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Effective planning skills with a customer service orientation.
Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with management, other
employees, government agencies, and the public.
Analytical problem-solver.
Ability to meet the challenge of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with one accounting software application with Intacct experience
highly desirable.
GAAP Accounting experience a plus.
CPA candidate a plus.
