Project Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

Ferrandino & Son, Inc. is looking to add a Project Accountant to our team based out of our Farmingdale, NY office This individual will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will assist the Accounting Manager, Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis and the CFO with month close and special projects for our construction services division. This is an on-site position in our Farmingdale, NY office. 

The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility is to support the construction project teams regarding compliance, payments, reports and analysis, and any other duties related to the construction project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform accounting related functions for assigned construction
• Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting of the construction projects.
• Work with other members of the accounting department to manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects.
• Understand compliance requirements for assigned projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process vendor invoices accurately and within assigned timelines.
• Process sub-contractor payments accurately and within assigned timeline.
• Collect and track compliance
• Generate reports including Payroll, A/R, Contract Status, Job Cost, Committed Costs, Budget vs Actual and WIP Reporting.
• Job cost report

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or similar business
• Minimum 2 years prior experience working as an accountant or
• Experience in the construction industry
• Experience working with Sage Accounting software and Procore preferred
• Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Key competencies are Communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability.
