How You Will Contribute
The Social Media & Community Manager will be responsible for helping to create and promote an online presence for the PMA and play a crucial role in developing the public face of the Museum. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be part of the Marketing team.
The successful candidate will promote activities, events and exhibitions happening across the museum. This individual will be working closely with all departments within the museum to promote and amplify the PMA’s activities to new and existing audiences. They will proactively engage new audiences and respond to online conversations, constructively expressing the voice of the Museum in social media discourse across multiple platforms as well as identify vehicles for the PMA to augment its message across diverse environments.
Specifically, you will:
Build strategic social media campaigns to grow community and leverage the PMA brand.
Build social advertising strategies to support PMA campaigns; place and track ads across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google AdWords for video)
Improve the search ranking, and extend the reach, of PMA content in a meaningful way.
Develop and implement social media plans across all PMA online channels.
Research and analyze content performance and make timely suggestions on how to optimize.
Leverage metrics and research where appropriate to define and track performance against objectives.
Write copy for social media posts, internal/external emails, and other communications.
Develop & track editorial calendars social and other channels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Your background and experience include:
3-5 years of experience as a social media manager or similar role
A passion for using social and other channels to achieve objectives.
Strong initiative as an entrepreneurial thinker taking independent actions and calculated risks.
Strong proficiency in social platforms
Experience in running social advertising campaigns.
Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively manage external relationships.
Ability to be flexible in a changing work environment and work well under pressure.
Self-starter who can work on his or her own with minimal guidance and always with a view to achieving objectives.
Skilled at analyzing data, deriving insights, and building creative output.
Refined understanding of community management
Influencer relations is an asset.
Position and Compensation Details
The minimum hourly for this position is $30.22.
This position is full-time, non-exempt, and 35 hours per week.
This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer
Physical requirements:
Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus.
Able to move items up to 10 pounds.
COVID-19 vaccination required.
Background check required after a conditional job offer is made.
