        <p>This position works collaboratively as part of a development team that includes a director of development, grants coordinator, and development associate, as well as volunteer event committees and interns. Based on a thorough understanding of major event planning, corporate sponsorship, and event fundraising, the Major Events Manager is responsible for ensuring a financially and programmatically successful pride festival and gala and for ensuring event revenue goals are met or exceeded. The Major Events Manager reports to the Director of Development.</p>\r\n

        <p>Key Responsibilities:</p>\r\n
        \r\n
        <p>Oversee all stages of planning, fundraising, and implementation of the annual Lehigh Valley Pride Festival, Gala &amp; LGBT Community Leadership Awards, Pride Nights at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Iron Pigs, and a new major event<br />\r\n
        In collaboration with the Director of Development, proactively cultivate sponsors for major events, manage sponsorship agreements, ensure that sponsors receive agreed upon benefits, and help maintain sponsor relationships throughout the year<br />\r\n
        Apply for and ensure compliance with all permits and licenses relevant to major events<br />\r\n
        Recruit, engage and oversee volunteers for major events<br />\r\n
        Cultivate volunteers to serve in leadership roles through the major event committees, and engage committees with regular meetings to plan major events<br />\r\n
        Propose and work within budgets for each major event<br />\r\n
        Meet or exceed fundraising goals<br />\r\n
        Maintain thorough understanding of organizational vision, history and programs<br />\r\n
        Attend staff and development team meetings as scheduled<br />\r\n
        Provide monthly written report to the Director of Development<br />\r\n

        Qualifications and Characteristics</p>\r\n

        <p>Energy, enthusiasm and motivation to ensure high-quality major events for the LGBTQ+ community in the Lehigh Valley<br />\r\n
        Comfort with cold calls and phone-based communication<br />\r\n
        Comfort with making fundraising asks<br />\r\n
        Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail<br />\r\n
        Ability to use technology to achieve results<br />\r\n
        Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently<br />\r\n
        Prior experience in engaging historically underrepresented and marginalized communities, including LGBTQ+ community members and people living with HIV<br />\r\n
        Demonstrated track record of setting and achieving goals<br />\r\n
        Proficiency with Zoom and Google apps including Sheets, Docs, Forms, and Slides<br />\r\n
        Strong writing skills, organizational skills, and follow-through<br />\r\n
